Australia vs New Zealand

Vital Statistics prior to the MCG on May 24

AUCKLAND - Sunday, 21 February, 2010

New Zealand and Australia have played 62 internationals dating back to 1922.

New Zealand won the first ever match between the two sides 3-1 in Dunedin on June 17 1922. It was also New Zealand’s first full international match. It should be noted that in 1904 and 1905, New Zealand and New South Wales also met in full internationals, as all of the States in Australia were politically independent, and did not form the Australian Football Association until 1921.
